Winston Churchill (1874–1965) was a towering British statesman military officer and writer. He served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom twice. His most famous tenure was during the Second World War. Churchill was also a Member of Parliament for over 60 years. He gained fame as a war correspondent and author early on. His powerful oratory and leadership were crucial during WWII. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1953. Churchill remains an iconic historical figure.
