Mario F. Fernandez (1946–2012) was a Cuban-American artist celebrated for his wildlife, bird, and botanic paintings, as well as sculpture and lithographs. Born in Havana, Cuba, he was imprisoned for political dissent before finding freedom in the United States in 1965 to develop his artistic career. His original works are held in prestigious collections worldwide, including those of Pope John Paul II and European royalty.
