Elbert Hubbard (1856–1915) was a diverse American figure. He was a writer publisher artist and philosopher. Hubbard founded the Roycroft artisan community in New York. This was influential in the Arts and Crafts movement. Among his many publications was the popular "A Message to Garcia". He died tragically aboard the RMS Lusitania.
